Care/Nurse ManagerTunbridge Wells - Posted: 08/24/2010 There is not a dull moment with this job. It is interesting, varied and challenging. It involves assisting the home manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home; deputising for her when she is absent, and supervising the care team, including a team of registered nurses. This may sometimes include ‘hands on’ work in personal care for the residents as the need arises.
The Care/Nurse Manager is responsible for all nursing & care staff when on duty and, when deputising for the Home Manager, responsible for all other staff. You will report directly to the Home Manager. You will have contact with residents’ relatives and visitors, as well as suppliers and local authorities, etc., and you will also have contact with members of the Society’s head office team.
We are looking for a well-motivated, responsible person, with a heart for the care and well-being of elderly people. You are looking for a job that will give you personal satisfaction and a sense of fulfilling a vocation, serving others to the glory of God.
You will be able to supervise other staff, and be happy to ‘lead from the front’, bringing out the best in people by your own attitude and example. You will be self-motivated and confident, able to plan ahead and to communicate efficiently with others.
Our prime task of course, is to care for our residents, by providing a loving and caring environment and maintaining the Christian ethos that is so important to them. Clearly, you must be able to fully agree with our Doctrinal Basis (see ‘This We Believe’).
You will be expected to lead resident and staff devotional times in the absence of the manager, and to assist the manager in the spiritual and pastoral leadership in the home. You will relate easily to the elderly, being patient and able to work under pressure – not forgetting important issues in the middle of a busy day!
You will have one or more of the following -
You will have a qualification in nursing at level 1 with experience at a supervisory level. A nursing qualification is a requirement for this post.
You may have previous experience at a senior level in residential care. Enquire
