Are you on pilgrimage?

"For he was looking for the city which has foundations,
whose architect and builder is God". - Hebrews 11:10

If you are a committed Christian you know that the best is yet to be. We are people on pilgrimage [Psalm 119:54] and, like Abraham, we are looking for 'the city which has foundations' [Hebrews 11:10]. As we grow older, towards the end of our journey, we find ourselves appreciating more than ever the fellowship and encouragement of like-minded pilgrims. It is a time where the family of God becomes even more precious. Old age is marked by loss: the gradual loss of loved ones and friends who have been trusted over the years, and the loss of physical, and sometimes mental, ability. When you are struggling with the loss of trust, even in yourself, it is easy to doubt the genuineness of your salvation, and frail elderly Christians may need pointing over and over again to God who cannot lie, and who is a strong rock and fortress.

Helping those further down the road
Jesus said, in Matthew 25, verse 40, that whatever we do for the least of His brethren, we do for Him. When you become a member of Pilgrim Homes, you are joining a long line of believers who share our ministry of caring for our precious older ones in Christ. You will not get special offers, or discounted rates - you will simply receive our Quarterly magazine and Annual Report, a range of topic related newsletters, and if you like, you can be linked to a countrywide fellowship of Christians who care about the Lord’s ‘aged pilgrims’. You also have the joy of knowing you are helping to support and encourage those nearer the end of their journey. There used to be a small membership fee (£15 for a single person, (£7:50 for pensioners) and £22.50 for a married couple, (£11.25 for pensioners), but this has been discontinued and now membership is free.
