Middlefields House is just the beginning of the Pilgrims' Friend Society Renewal Programme which will see six new care homes built over the next 10 years.
Pilgrims’ Friend Society is a Christian charity that has been caring for older people since 1807. Today the Society operates residential care homes and retirement housing schemes in 14 locations around the country, providing care and housing for more than 400 older people.
We help older people flourish as God intended and help them to live fulfilled lives in their later years. We excel in providing secure, comfortable homes and professional care but our Christian principles also motivate us to help people in the later part of their lives to continue to contribute, grow and enjoy fulfilling lives.
As well as our care homes, at some of our locations we offer retirement housing schemes that provide safe Christian environments for independent living with the added security of 24-hour emergency support on-site. We believe older people deserve more, so by offering packages to lighten the burden of daily domestic tasks, we enable residents to focus on what is important to them to keep enjoying a full and fulfilled life.
We also believe that every Christian has a part to play in caring for older people in society. That’s why we take what we have learned about working with our ageing brothers and sisters to church congregations, conferences and beyond. Using our first-hand experiences as a springboard, we are able to guide and encourage people as they care at home or in the community, helping older people to flourish as God intended.
Our Renewal Programme is a multi-year plan that will see us build six new care homes to replace smaller, older homes, with Chippenham being the first.
The Pilgrims’ Friend Society residential home Wood Lane, Chippenham and will continue to offer care until the new home is opened.
Christian Care is not just about looking after physical needs but also caring for spiritual needs and encouraging faith in those that we look after.
