What happens if I become ill?

If you become ill in the home, a visiting GP will attend and if you need to go to hospital, arrangements will be made subject to consultation with your family/next of kin. In case of emergency, all of our homes have a 24hr emergency call-out service should you fall ill outside of office hours.

How do I access other health services such as dentists, opticians etc?

The homes have a list of local health professionals, and will help you register with the relevant service as and when required. In cases where you are unable to travel, a home appointment can be arranged.

Can I keep my own GP?

Expand
If the home is local to your existing GP, then yes. However, if you have moved away from the area, and it is not feasible or practical to access your GP, then we provide a list of local GPs and help you register with a GP of your choice.

What happens if my care needs change?

If your care needs change over time, our care team will work with you and/or your representative(s) to adapt your care package, to ensure you receive the right level of care and continue to enjoy life to the full.

Does each resident have a care plan, and how often are these reviewed?

Expand
Yes, each care plan covers everything relating to the individual's personal care, including their social interests, hobbies and spiritual and cultural needs. The plans are regularly reviewed by residents/their representatives and staff to monitor the need for changes and to ensure that their needs are being met.
