Introducing Brighton Home

Brighton Home is one of the Society’s earliest homes and has been extensively and tastefully refurbished. Set in a sheltered valley, Queens Park is less than five minutes’ walk from the home. Accessible by wheelchair, this park is a popular place to stroll around or meet up with family and friends. There is a regular bus service which can take you to the Sea Front, the famous ‘Lanes’, or to the shops.

The Brighton Home has 21 single rooms. To ensure the privacy of our residents, the rooms have been fitted with hand basins (some with toilets). There are bathrooms with assisted baths and a walk-in shower. There is a spacious lounge/dining room on the ground floor, along with a separate small lounge which is often appreciated by residents for its atmosphere for peace and quiet. Residents particularly enjoy the sheltered garden which has areas to catch the sunshine and areas for those who prefer to sit in shade, perhaps to read a book or just enjoy the peacefulness.

Our residents enjoy daily devotions and prayer groups and services are held every day in the home each week (Tuesday – Saturday 10:30am – 11am, Sunday 3:30pm and Monday 6:15pm). Communion is held once a month and a Bible study is held fortnightly. The home also benefits from visits by local college students and many of the residents find real enjoyment in sharing their life experiences with these young people. The home is well supported by the local Friends Group who befriend the residents and visit on a regular basis.

We enjoy showing visitors around the home, but request that if this is the purpose of your visit you call us first to arrange a suitable time. This allows us to allocate a member of staff to answer your questions. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time during the day, and there is the opportunity to purchase a meal in the home if they wish to do so, by prior arrangement.

Governance Information

In order to reduce the charities' governance and administration costs, on 21st December 2016 we re-registered our care homes with CQC under the name of Pilgrims' Friend Society.  Previously this home was registered under the name of Pilgrim Homes. None of our staff, management or ways of working in the home changed as a result.

The results of the most recent inspection by CQC under the old registration of Pilgrim Homes can be seen by clicking on the CQC link and looking at the “old profile”.
