Introducing Evington Home

Boasting 44 acres of trees, gardens, wildlife ponds and open grassed areas, the Evington Park is a short walk from the home, and is accessible by both foot and wheelchair. There is a bus stop at the end of the street which offers excellent transport links to Leicester city centre, about three miles away, and train station. The home is a pleasant, level walk from the village which has a variety of shops and a library.

The Evington Home has 30 rooms, the majority of which have either garden or park views.  The secure, landscaped garden, which has both paved and grassed areas, raised flower beds, relaxing water wall and pond and is wheelchair friendly, is accessed from the main lounge.

To ensure the privacy and dignity of our residents, all rooms have en-suite facilities, television and telephone points. There are several bathrooms with assisted baths and a walk in shower. The dining room and main lounge room are both located on the ground floor. There are a further two, smaller lounges on the first floor, accessible by the passenger lifts. Families often enjoy hosting special occasions for their relative privately in these lounges.

In keeping with our Christian ethos, there are morning devotions Monday - Friday, a Sunday afternoon service and a monthly communion service, all taken by a variety of local speakers and clergy. There are a number of churches of various denominations within easy reach of the home. A team of ‘Friends’ of the home support and befriend our residents by coming to see them on a regular basis.

We enjoy showing visitors around the home, but request that if this is the purpose of your visit you call us first to arrange a suitable time. This allows us to allocate a member of staff to answer your questions. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time during the day, and there is the opportunity to purchase a meal in the home if they wish to do so, by prior arrangement.
