A Legacy Gift is a planned future donation to a charity, given through a will or other form of designation. It is a decision that each person makes in their own financial planning process, taking into account their charitable wishes and values.

Gifts left in wills are really important to charities. However, even if you haven’t made a will, making a pledge to leave a gift in your will in the future would really help us find out about your future intentions and enable us to plan for the future.

If you have already made a will, but you want to leave a legacy to a charity you can make an addition or change it without re-writing your current will. This addition is called a codicil. Please speak to your solicitor or legal representative about this.

Should you wish to leave a Legacy Gift to Pilgrims’ Friend Society, you can choose one of three options:

1. SPECIFIC LEGACY – you can choose an item that you wish to donate to “Pilgrims Friend Society”

2. PECUNIARY LEGACY – you can define a specific £ amount that you wish to ensure goes to “Pilgrims Friend Society”

3. RESIDUAL LEGACY – you can give a % of your legacy to PFS. Once you have catered for friends and family you could simply define the gift as “1% of my estate” to go to “Pilgrims Friend Society”
