Leonora Home
Residential and respite care
For those sympathetic to the Christian faith
Life at Leonora Home
Rooted in the Christian faith, life at Leonora Home supports our residents to live fulfilled lives in their later years. We provide excellent, personalised care which supports our residents to flourish in older age.
Leonora Home has an active social life, in which residents can take part or follow their own pursuits. We appreciate that each resident has their own individual interests, hobbies and pastimes, and we endeavour to support our residents to maintain this important part of their lives. Our residents are encouraged to lead the lifestyle that they choose, doing as much or as little as they want - residents can simply choose to put their feet up with a daily paper (by arrangement) or a good book from the home's own collection.
Regular activities include an art class, reminiscence afternoons, chair activities, visits by local Christian choirs, story reading and more. A hairdresser visits once a week.
In-keeping with our Christian ethos, there are daily devotional times taking a variety of forms, including two services a week, Bible study, prayer meetings and communion. These are led by staff, residents and volunteers from the local churches. The home is well supported by the local Friends Group who befriend the residents and visit them on a regular basis. In addition, residents benefit from the involvement in the life of the home from like-minded Christians residing in the Retirement Living units on site.

Around the home
Leonora is an old stone house. Its position at the top of a hill ensures there are special views over Chippenham and the Wiltshire countryside. A patio overlooking the pretty garden to the front is a sun-trap and a popular seating area in good weather, where lovely sunsets can be enjoyed.
The main lounge is situated on the ground floor, together with the dining room and a smaller lounge. There are bathrooms with assisted baths and a walk-in shower.
We enjoy showing visitors around the home, but request that if this is the purpose of your visit you call us first to arrange a suitable time. This allows us to allocate a member of staff to answer your questions. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time during the day, and there is the opportunity to purchase a meal in the home if they wish to do so, by prior arrangement.
