Leonora Home has had 14 residents and 11 members of staff have tested positive for coronavirus since mid-November. Sadly, two of our residents have passed away, both of whom had underlying health issues. Two other residents have tested positive in hospital, having been admitted for other health issues, who we hope will be home soon. Staff who tested positive are isolating for 10 days, as per the guidelines, before returning to work.

Regular testing is in place and we have a clear understanding of the situation, which allows us to take all the appropriate steps to protect those who live and work at Leonora.

We have been, and continue to be, taking all precautionary steps to safeguard those who live and work in the home, and there have been no known breaches of infection control. We have been liaising with Public Health England and with our CQC Inspector who have been supporting the home.

Residents are currently being cared for in their rooms as far as is possible, and precautions are being taken where this is not possible. None of those who have tested positive have significant symptoms or are very unwell, and morale at the home is good. Staff are working extremely hard to protect the residents from the virus while also maintaining some sense of normal life in the home and are rising to the challenge well.

Relatives of those who live with us have been informed and are being regularly informed about the situation.

Please pray for the health and well-being of the residents during a difficult time. Please also pray for the staff team and the management as they continue to work hard to provide wonderful care in a loving environment.
