Pilgrim Hymns

YOUR STATUTES have been my songs in the house of my pilgrimage,’ (Psalm 119:54, NKJV) was written over 3,000 years ago, yet it reflects the sentiments of God’s people in every century. The precepts of God and the songs inspired by His Holy Spirit have blessed generation after generation, with each decade bringing new, fresh musical declarations of His love and eternal truths. The best of them have become woven into the fabric of Christian culture, transcending denominations, ages and countries. Believers identify with them now as deeply as the day they were written: who, for example, can sing ‘Amazing Grace’ without a heartfelt ‘Amen’? Written by former slave-trader John Newton, ‘Amazing Grace’ is as much a testimony of the power of God to save as Pilgrim Homes is of His power to keep and enable.
