About our housing schemes

Enjoy your own space within a vibrant Christian community in one of our housing schemes.

Our housing schemes provide you with your own bungalow or apartment, set in a community of other like-minded Christians, all within easy reach of town centres. Enjoy peace of mind that property upkeep is all taken care of, and extra support for daily chores is available if you need it. With regular devotional times, communal mealtimes, and social events, you’ll enjoy fellowship with those living alongside you.

There are nine independent living housing schemes, with eight in England and one in Scotland. There is 24-hour access to an emergency call centre at all of our schemes, so you can enjoy peace of mind knowing there is always support close at hand if you need it.

All of our housing schemes include:

• Access to a 24-hour emergency call centre

• A manager who oversees the daily running of the scheme and can signpost you in the direction of local amenities and churches. Where needed, our managers can also assist with administrative activities such as form-filling.

• A maintenance team that takes care of communal areas and gardens. If your property is rented, they will also handle its maintenance.

When you live at one of our independent living housing schemes, you can enjoy the spiritual encouragement that comes from living alongside other Christians. We have regular collective devotions together, which include a short talk, prayer, singing, and social time. We also have clergy and other volunteers come to visit and share with us, helping faith to flourish.

How much you participate in communal spiritual activities is completely your choice. Many people living with us tell us that opportunities for Christian fellowship in later years are among the things they value most about living with us. All of our Pilgrims’ Friend Society housing schemes also have strong links with local churches, so we can help you get connected to a local church if you’d like.
