About Homesdale Sheltered Housing in Wanstead, Northeast London

Homesdale is a Christian community for older people in Wanstead, Northeast London. Comprised of an 18-bed care home and 70 self-contained flats, Homesdale offers a safe and secure environment both for those who are living independently and for those who need care.

Homesdale sheltered housing is purpose-built and offers accommodation with support. Hunter Court and Mountier Court offer flats designed for both couples and individuals, each with their own front door for personal privacy and independence. There is a mixture of bedsit style properties, and one-, two- and three-bedroom flats. Each flat has its own kitchen and a bathroom with shower.

With staff on site every day for support and advice, and a 24-hour emergency alarm system, residents and their families can relax in the knowledge that there is always someone on hand to help.

Residents can meet in the large, purpose-built communal lounge area with its own kitchen facilities, and french doors give access to outdoor decked areas leading down to the gardens. There are laundry rooms with washing machines and tumble dryers. There is a door entry system and 24-hour CCTV giving you security, and lifts give ready access to all floors.

Friends and family are always welcome to visit and, for a small charge, guests can stay in the comfortable guest rooms to make the most of their time with their loved ones.

Above all, Homesdale is your home - you have freedom to spend your time however you wish.

Support

A daily wellbeing call is made to the flat every morning. Staff are also available to support you and will monitor your health and welfare. The staff will provide help to access other services if they are needed. Additional care and support can be arranged from external agencies and delivered in the flat.

You can also opt-in to a midday two-course hot lunch. There is an additional charge for this. This can be taken daily, or as and when you want it.

The lounge can be used at any time. This can be informally with visitors or with other residents. There are a range of activities and social events are planned throughout the year.

There is a weekly Christian service on-site, which includes visits from other local ministers and speakers from a range of denominational backgrounds. In addition, there is a monthly communion service, prayer courses, bible study, and on-site services for special days including Good Friday, Armistice Day, the World Day of Prayer, and a popular Christmas Carol service.
