Rejoicing in Easter
Our homes love to celebrate the Easter season. Here are some highlights...
There was an array of different arts and crafts as our homes got creative. To mark Palm Sunday, Framland in Wantage made their own crosses out of palm leaves while Luff House in Walton-on-the-Naze drew round their hands to make paper palm leaves to wave during a service at Homelands Church. Bridgemead in Bath made Swedish-style Easter trees while Milward House in Tunbridge Wells got busy with scissors and glue to make Easter bonnets and rabbit-themed paper creations, with a little help from some young visitors. Finborough Court in Great Finborough made a cross to display at the Stowmarket Cross Festival and Emmaus House in Whitehaven made traditional paste eggs, wrapping them in daffodil leaves and boiling them before buffing them up with butter. Bethany House in Preston meanwhile crafted some cheeky chicks while Shottermill House in Haslemere had a relaxing time with an Easter colouring session.
There were also egg hunts aplenty with Middlefields House in Chippenham welcoming young visitors for an Easter egg hunt in the garden and Finborough Court hosting children from Whatfield School. Evington Home in Leicester, meanwhile, took part in an Easter hunt with a difference, finding eight things Jesus went through on His way to the cross hidden around the home.
Friends and family of those living at Emmaus House in Harrogate were invited to join the home in marking Easter with a very tasty celebration - a traditional Easter lunch with roast lamb. Yum!
The significance of Easter was also marked through special services and Bible study times. For example, Koinonia Christian Care Home in Worthing followed a series of Lent Bible studies while Shottermill House welcomed in Rev Tim Radcliffe to lead Easter communion.
