Despite some very wet weather, we were joined by the Mayor of Chippenham, Desna Allen, as well as ministers from churches around the area and representatives from our local volunteer groups and others involved in the project including main contractors Midas Construction and designers Northstar Projects. Pilgrims' Friend Society Chief Executive, Stephen Hammersley, welcomed guests and shared how Middlefields House will be a Christian home supporting and encouraging fulfilled living for older people. The Mayor commented that she was pleased to see the project progressing and Jonathan Edwards, a trustee of Pilgrims' Friend Society and a Chippenham local, closed our time together at the site with prayer. This short but important milestone event was followed by a prayer meeting held at the nearby Ladyfield Evangelical Church.
