Sir Keir Starmer praises the DailyHOPE
Set up by Faith in Later Life and the Church of England to provide spiritual encouragement during lockdown, the DailyHOPE has provided support to thousands of people, many of them older. As the telephone line celebrated its fifth anniversary, the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer sent the following message of support:
"I am delighted to be sending my very best wishes to everyone at the DailyHOPE Telephone Line as you mark your fifth anniversary.
I know you have supported thousands of people since your launch in 2020, and the service you provided, particularly to support older people during lockdown, was highly valued. It is important to reflect on the significant impact the service has continued to have, especially for those unable to access the internet or who prefer phone-based support.
Offering prayers, church services, reflections, hope and comfort to those who feel lonely or isolated is a vital resource for the community.
Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this invaluable service, and I wish you continued success in the future."

Please note...
The number for the DailyHOPE service is being updated. From 1st July, the number will be 0345 646 2206. Calls charged at the same rate as a standard UK landline. If you know an older person who would benefit from this service, do let them know.
