Visiting guidance - update
According to the latest Government guidance, those living in care homes are now limited to three named visitors plus one essential care giver
The new guidance is in response to data which suggests that the Omicron variant may be more transmissible, with infections doubling every two to three days.
The nominated visitors should remain the same, barring an exceptional change in circumstances.
Vic Stone, Operations Manager and Coronavirus Lead, said, “At Pilgrims’ Friend Society, our first duty has always been and continues to be to keep everyone safe. We are pleased that we can continue to offer visiting, albeit with more limited numbers. We thank you for your patience as we seek to follow the guidelines.”
The Government has also updated its guidance with regard to visits out of care homes. When going out of the home, residents should: avoid visiting people they don't usually spend time with regularly; avoid mixing with a large number of people indoors and have had COVID-19 booster (unless exempt). Those they are visiting should also be undertaking regular LFD tests and receive a negative LFD on the day of the visit. It is strongly advised that they should have had their COVID-19 vaccinations including booster if eligible.
