Modern Slavery talk with CARE & Their Voice

Tuesday 25th June 2-3pm

Join us to hear more about Modern Slavery; how we can respond to this growing problem & be encouraged with stories of hope & restoration

Modern slavery is a very real issue in the care sector. Almost one in five potential victims of modern slavery work within the care sector and numbers are expected to rise. Whether they be in the care sector, hand car washes, nail salons or the sex trade, vulnerable people are forced to work for little or no pay, with limited freedom and poor living conditions. What can Christians do about modern slavery today? How can we be alert to the signs of it? How can we stand up and care for the most vulnerable? What should we be encouraging our government to do?

Join Christians in Care on Tuesday 25th June 2-3pm for a special Zoom meeting where Peter Killingley who works for CARE and a representative of Their Voice will help us understand more and consider how we can respond. CARE is a Christian charity with 40 years’ experience seeking to influence politics and politicians, telling God’s better story for the world as we look to see politics renewed and lives transformed. Their Voice is a charity devoted to supporting families and individuals who have faced the horrors of modern slavery and human trafficking. Their mission is to empower, enable and inspire hope through the provision of both practical and emotional support.
