Introducing Emmaus House

Emmaus House is a caring family atmosphere - a place where residents can maintain their independence whilst benefiting from a comfortable and secure environment. Above all residents are treated with dignity and love in a warm, informal atmosphere. The home has an activities programme that meets the needs of individual residents. There are also regular social activities in which relatives and friends can participate.

Emmaus House has 22 rooms, all with en-suite facilities, television and telephone points. There are several bathrooms with assisted baths and a walk-in shower. The main lounge is on the first floor (accessed by passenger lift), and the dining room is on the ground floor, both overlooking the Valley Gardens.

As a Christian community, both residents and staff of Emmaus House meet daily for devotional times. There is also a Sunday service, monthly communion service and regular hymn singing. Emmaus House also benefits from the active involvement of supporters from local evangelical churches, who not only visit regularly to take devotions, services, prayer meetings, bible studies and communion services, but also provide pastoral support to the residents and staff. There are a number of churches of various denominations within easy reach of the home.

We enjoy showing visitors around our home, but if this is the purpose of your visit we request that you call and arrange a suitable time so we can allocate a member of staff to show you around and answer any questions. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time during the day, and there is the opportunity to purchase a meal in the home if they wish to do so, by prior arrangement.
